The base has two height settings for a baby. Start out by using the cot with the base raised. As your baby grows and is showing signs of being able to sit up, the cot base should be lowered.

Remove one of the rail sections when your baby is able to crawl over it. Once the child has outgrown the bed, you can turn it into a cosy sofa by adding back cushions and a cover to the mattress.
